Oh Hai Blog!

What does it say when it has been almost a year between posts?  I guess it's good, in a way, because that means I've been busy living instead of sucked into the time suck that is computer gaming (no offense of course).  I still feel good about the choice to pull away from the game for a bit.  Balance is something I think I'm always going to struggle with, but I feel like I am finding my stride.  We did get the Mists of Pandaria expansion.  I think we rolled cute little pandas but then didn't play for a few months.  I love new content, but I hate how crazy things are when it first rolls out.  So we just waited for some of the newness to pass.  Over the last few months we've been playing a little more.  Those cute little pandas we rolled are now level 68 and running around Northrend causing all kinds of trouble.  Elfy rolled a cute little panda Monk, and I rolled a panda Hunter.  Yeah, I know... this brings me up to what, seven hunters?  I can't bring myself to play (or delete) my Druid.  I'd be okay playing my Pally, but I'm really having more fun with the hunter.  I can play and not have to pay 100% attention.

There.

I admit it.  I like to be lazy when I play.

I tend to get a little more addicted than Elfy, so when he hasn't been in the mood to play I've been leveling up some of the characters I haven't really played in awhile including Della, one of my alliance Hunters.  She's exploring the Mists of Pandaria content now.  The play is a little laggy, and spawn rates are kind of to fast so it's a little frustrating.  Hopefully it will be more balanced by the time we get the pandas there.  I'm enjoying the lazy questing and leveling and new content.  I'm looking forward to exploring the new zones a little more thoroughly, and encountering new people to piss off and making new stories to share. :)

Wow

I haven't posted over here in awhile.  Real life has taken front and center, as it should, and I haven't logged into WoW in...I'm not really sure how long.  I've had the itch to log in and run around farming stuff, or just log in and see if anyone I know is still around.  But I just haven't.  Now the date for the next expansion (which I don't even know the name of-yeah, I'm that out of it) has been released.  Three days after my birthday.  I'm torn, do I log in and get back into a casual routine and try to figure out what's coming?  Or do I wait until the expansion (well, a few weeks after at least-it's gonna be crazy at first) and get back into the game then when I have to relearn stuff all over again because they are going to change everything again?  I guess I should go do some reading.  Or maybe I'll just craw back into bed...

More WTH

So as you know from my last rambling post I’ve leveled a Paladin to level 85 (or maybe I didn't mention the level).  My sweet hubby and I have been PvPing together to get some gear to do stuff in because the gear we leveled in is not good enough to to much with now.  Along with getting gear comes the why, what for and how.  I have to decide if I want to just PvP with her and farm achievements, do I want to run in raids/instances, and what build am I going to settle on?  I leveled Retribution if you care.  Now that she is 85, I have to make the decision Healadin or Tankadin.  Since my healy druid has been dead to me I haven’t really had any interest in healing with anything else, so that leaves Tankadin as my only option.  So ok.  How hard can that be?  I just run up to a mob and start hitting it.

Oh wait.  I have to make sure I’m not standing it acid or some other substance that will it hard for me to heal.  Ok, so run up and hit stuff but keep moving.

Oh wait, I’m playing with other people some of which may be cloth-wearing aggro whores.  I need to be able to get aggro back.  Ok, so run up and hit stuff, keep moving, and generate whatever aggro nabbing mad skills I can.  Um.  What?

/facepalm

So what I see happening at this point is me running up to hit shit (screaming as I go) and then hitting all my buttons as fast as I can hoping I’m moving, holding threat and hitting the right shit.  Did I mention the screaming?  My poor husband, who plays on the couch next to me.  This may be a bad experience all around.

Farming achievements is sounding better by the minute. Less performance anxiety that way!

WTH am I Doing?

I don't post here very often.  There was a large amount of time where I was not logging into WoW, or really doing anything of note.  Over the Christmas/New Year holiday I started playing again.  I rolled a Blood Elf Paladin (I should really post pictures, my toons are cute) some time ago and was having fun with her but just lost interest.  We had left Union of Lost Souls (ULS) and had created our own guild consisting of three people.  That is fine and dandy, but then WoW went and did this thing where you get perks for being in an active guild like faster mount speed and increased experience in leveling.  So again, I got her to about 72 and lost interest.  When I started playing again over the holidays it was here I went to.  I should have said she is on our old server (since I seem to feel the need to populate more than one).  Wow this is kind of all kinds of rambley!  Anyway, so I'm on our old server and playing a new toon.  Hubby has leveled his main toon (handsome Tauren shaman) to 85 and is looking to raid/run dungeons.  Long story short, we find ourselves back in ULS!  The thing I need to remind myself, guilds are ever changing.  People come and go (and I wish there are some people that would GO-but I think we are ok) and truth be told I really missed playing with some of the friends I (we) made in ULS.  Thanks to the bonus to leveling I got my Paladin to 85 over the holidays and have been PVPing with her to get some gear.  I just have to figure out now hat I want to dow tim her.  She is designed to either tank/off tank/heal.  I'm really really apprehensive about tanking, and am not really interested in healing with her.  I'm getting some gear so she can at least get into dungeons, but again I have to figure out her role.  It's been really good getting to talk to the guild friends again.  There are lots of new people I'm still trying to figure out, and I'm trying to not let it take over my life like it had before.  I like getting things done around the house, or not having to scarf down a dinner.  Balance.  I'm going to strive for balance this year.  (And figuring out wtf to do with my paladin)

Regression?

Now that I have one of my hunters on the other server at level 82 (I think), I'm playing a character back on my old server.  Yes.  I'm back on my old server.  Hopefully I have learned from all the past crap and won't fall back into the same patterns that made me want to leave the server in the first place.  I did roll a new character that I've been leveling (no, it's not a worgen or a goblin).  It's been nice to experience the new content with my husband.  We'll see how long this back on the old server lasts.  I've proven now that I'm fickle and flighty when it comes to playing wow.

My Path of Destruction Continues...

So, here is my newest "I'm a WoW jerk" story.

I better set this up for you a bit, before I go into the dialog.  I was in an area that has the tendency (not as much now with the expansion) to be a bit camped.  People farm the area for reputation related drops so it can be hard to get quests done because people are trying to get the items for the reputation trade in.  So that means it can take forever for the things you want to kill to appear, or they can appear too fast.  Anyway, so I'm in this area, trying to complete a quest when my most recent encounter happens.  I am at a specific spot, trying to complete a quest when a mob spawns close to me.  I am playing my hunter, and I have my pet out.  It appears close enough that it aggros my pet and my pet attacks.  It was also close enough that it interrupted my quest completion so I help my pet kill it.  I also have a quest to be killing a mob like the one that attacked, I am supposed to stick a banner in the dead body (ha ha, sounds neat, huh?).  I go to stick the banner in my kill and another player, Rennu, beats me to it.  Not.  Cool.  I don't say anything, but instead I wait for a chance to stick a banner in one of his/her (we'll say his) kills.  I don't follow Rennu around, I finish the quest I was trying to do before getting attacked.  I notice he has a few dead around him so I run over and plant a banner in one of them and then go in another direction (so as not to compete) to finish my own killing and banner planting.  Now the conversation:

Rennu:  Really?
Me:  you planted one on an ogre I killed
Rennu:  I was casting on that ogre when you siced your pet on it
Rennu:  not my fault I can't instant attack
Me:  it was my kill, I didn't realize you were going for it

Rennu:  I was a boomkin facing it and casting spells what else would I have been doing
Me:  you know what, get over it.  I wasn't doing it to be rude.  It was my kill-you should have known because you couldn't loot-yet you still planted your banner.  I didn't harass you about it.
Rennu:  no you just went out of your way to charge up a hill and grab a mob I was clearly killing
Me:  just like you planted a banner on my kill
Rennu is ignoring you

So, thinks I didn't get to point out/say to Rennu:
1.  Boomkin do have an instant attack, it's called MOONFIRE.  I have a boomkin, I know this for a fact.
2.  I don't target all the people around me to see what they are attacking to make sure I don't attacking some thing they are before I attack; the mob spawn on my pet and it attacked-I didn't SICK my pet on anything.  I wasn't trying to run around harassing them.
3.  I wouldn't have "charged up a hill" to plant a banner on a mob they killed if he wasn't a casserole and planted a mob on my kill in the first place.

I hate people. :(

Did You Know There Was a Looking For Group Channel?

I have not played my druid in ages.  There have been several patches, and my talent points have been refunded and unspent for a while now.  A friend sent me a cute little baby moonkin pet to cheer me up while Elfy was away.  So, I finally spent those pesky points so I could get my moonkin form back and chill out with my lil pet.  Not even 10 minutes later I get a whisper for a raid invite.  Elfy tells me to mess with him.  It was one of those nights where that sounded like just the thing to do.  This is how it played out:

Vaniash:  dps for kel thuzud 10?
Me:  please tell how to wow?
Vaniash:  wth
Vaniash:  how to wow
Me:  please how to wow?
Vaniash:  wth did u messga me that?
Me:  please wow?
Vaniash:  do u need help?
Vaniash:  like ar eu mental
Vaniash:  stop messaging me
Me:  please help wow?
Vaniash:  why the hell would i wanna help wow the peopole who fricken lure u into like what 15 bucks a month

and that is where it ended.  I think Vaniash was more mental than I was!  I know I could have just said no, or told him to try the looking for group channel, but this was soooo much more fun!  It is a pet peeve that people still whisper random people for groups like that.  If I wanted to be dpsing something I would be in the looking for group channel.  I should have told him how to wow!

/DND rl wtfpwns WoW time

Yeah, that title probably won't make sense to anyone who doesn't play WoW... sorry.

It's been a while.  I haven't posted any WoW news or stories.  I'm still enjoying my new quiet server.  I have a level 58 character, and a level 52 character.  This is good, as I am able to farm things that sell for more and then I can get cool stuff to amuse me.  I haven't really been playing much.  It's the time of year where real life sort of has to take priority and I have to actively be an adult.  Having said that, you can still catch me holding down my chair running around pew pew pewing things with my hunter.  I want to get my higher lever characters to 80 before the new expansion comes out, in December.  :(  Yeah, that's not going to happen.

Oh well.  I'm still here, still doing my best to stay away from people and if they won't leave me alone I ruin the game for them.  I guess I do have a gift!

Moved

After finally being done with the SSDD (any Stephen King fans out there?) on Silvermoon I have started over on a new server.  My characters on Silvermoon are still there.  I have not deleted them, or moved them.  Yet.  I'm not in a guild.  I don't have anyone that I'm questing with.  It's just me, doing my thing, and enjoying the peace and quiet.

I haven't decided what I'm going to do with my characters on Silvermoon.  I guess I will continue to just let them sit there.  I'm going to keep chillin on my new server.  I'm already level 41.  If you can find me, I'll friend you. ha ha ha!!

/Sigh

So if you read this blog you know this is where I like to vent my World of Warcraft (WoW) joys and frustrations.  I seem to be more inspired to write the frustrations, perhaps I am a cranky writer.  I generally vent about really stupid people here, and this post is no exception.  Hey, I don't see any point in trying to be nice anymore (ha ha, was I ever nice?).

History
My main character (the one I prefer to play), Chala a Tauren Druid, has been in 5 1/2 guilds.  I have been playing this character almost from the beginning of the game coming out.  I started out alliance but after frustration with the age range of players we switched to Horde, we were told it seemed to be more mature than alliance.  So needless to say, I have been playing Chala for years now.  The 1/2 guild is a guild merger, which I'll cover below.  All my guild endeavors have been shared with my Elfy, of course.

Counsel of Redrum (CoR).  We started out and remained un-guilded for quite awhile.  One day on a blimp we say another character with a really cool tabard.  We asked to join the guild on the grounds of the tabard.  What is really funny is they actually invited us!  CoR was a decent bunch of people.  They were friendly enough, and we got to do our own thing and enjoy some friendly conversation.  We made some friends, which led to our next guild.

Requiem (Req).  Req was a newly forming raiding guild.  We just happened to be classes they needed (Elfy, aka Elfbite, an Orc Hunter) and we were interested in seeing raid content.  It seemed like the next logical step.  We had not hit the level cap yet, so we hurried through the last few levels and then started running dungeons to get gear to start raiding.  It started out fun, it wasn't a big guild and we all got along pretty well.  As we started building up our raid skills we started adding more members.  This began the long road to me feeling really bad about my skills.  I suddenly had people telling my my bonus healing wasn't high enough, that I needed to be faming for better gear and that I was healing wrong.  No one was dying on my watch, I didn't understand what the problem was.  But it seemed that my numbers weren't good enough, and I guess that was more important than if I kept my group alive.  It got even more confusing.  I was asked to pass on loot for other players, even though I may have rightfully won the piece and regardless of what a huge upgrade it was for me.  And weren't they telling me how bad my gear was?  That was also the beginning of the elitist attitude that crept in.

Evolution (Evo).  Req built up a decent reputation on the server, and were progressing well.  Then our guild leaders and officers decided it would be a good idea to merge with another raiding guild so we would be bigger, and progress further and faster.  Bigger is not better, I believed it then and I believe it now.  So we merged with a guild called Bloodpact of the Chosen (BToC) and became Evo.  It all happened very fast, and I think it surprised most of the members of both guilds.

Evo lasted only a few weeks and people quit to go back to what was left of their original guilds.  After that, Elfy's and my days in Req were numbered.  Peoples attitudes were very elitist and it was becoming very had to like some of the people we were raiding with.  Tempers flared, egos and attitudes swelled and it was starting to take the fun out the raiding experience.  Instead of a fun game, it was starting to feel like a job.  So, after thinking about if for quite a while, and crying about it just as much (hey, I am a girl) Elfy and I decided we would be happier if we left the guild.

We left and went back to quiet, un-guilded life.  We still talked to friends in the guild, there were still some good people that all the nastiness and pressure had not gotten to yet, but it was only a matter of time before a lot of them left too.  We weren't ready to answer all the "Why'd you leave" questions so we left Horde side for awhile and went back to Alliance.  We leveled a Priest (me) and a Shamen (Elfy).  Elfy had friends from work Alliance side, and we joined the guild he was in.  That went bad, they were not very open and were quick to push those they didn't know as well out.  But I'm not going to go into Alliance now, this is all Horde.

Union of Lost Souls (ULS).  After the frustration Alliance side we came back Horde side and joined a friends guild, ULS.  Elfy really enjoyed playing a Shamen, so we power leveld a Tauren Shamen named Scritch for him to play Horde side.  Chala and Scritch became the healing team for ULS and it was great, while it lasted.  While we were running with ULS, Req was falling apart.  People were leaving for various reasons, some came and joined ULS (much to my dismay) and eventually Req turned into the guild Minion.  Meanwhile, some of the people and reasons why we left Req in the first place were coming back into our gaming world.  So, after a bunch of really snarky frustrating crap happened, and rules that were put in place to be fair seemed to not matter to everyone we left ULS.

Current
Everything we have been though has just about killed the game for us.  We took some time off, and after a nice break we started playing casually again in our new guild that we formed with one of our friends from the early Req days, Pocket Full of Hate (Pocket).  In the peace and quiet of our little guild of three we have found our quiet place.  We are no longer obligated to run with people because they are guildies.  In a way, we were free.  We started running heroics (dungeons where you get gear and badges for gear) with our ULS friends and life was good.

ULS started having more personality conflicts (not unlike why we left) and we found our ULS friends recovering Alliance side.  So we switched over to Alliance for awhile and ran around with them over there.  Talk of forming a new raid group came up, and Elfy and I were recruited to heal.  We were all for it, with a few conditions:  we would not participate if certain people were in the group.  The guild master was not planning on most of the people on our list being invited.  There was one, but I was prepared to let the one slide.  I was firm in regards to everyone else.  It seemed like everything was on track, and then someone stepped in to help the guild master get the group rounded up.  This opened up the door for the people on our list and caused Elfy and I a lot of frustration.  To prove my point about how much I will not run with anyone on the list I actually left a heroic because one of them was invited to fill in an empty slot.  If that didn't get my point across, along with me saying I would not run with these people I don't know what would.

So today, I log in and find there is an invite for the first bonding raid with the new forming group.  Can you guess what happened?  /sigh  Yup.  The person at the type of my list was invited, so I declined.  They can find another healer.  I have put in my time and had to run with this person through most of my raiding life in this game.  I'm done with him.  I have earned the right to say hell no, and I wish my "friends" would understand and respect that.  All the had to do was tell me from the start they wouldn't tell him no.  I had a feeling in my gut.  But you know, I hoped that just this once it was wrong.  I hoped that the guild master had finally heard me, and understood where I was coming from, that I had earned her respect enough that she would respect my views and be honest with me rather than try to sneak me into a raid with him or bully me into doing it.  I am DONE being a doormat.  And I'm really cranky.

Universal Ignore?

Yes, this is a World of Warcraft rant and it might be all over the map.  Just thought I'd warn you in advance.

I apparently have lost ALL ability to be patient.  I'm tired of feeling like I have to be nice to complete strangers.  Why can't people just do what I do?  I don't whisper complete strangers, I either ask my guild mates or I go look it up on this new-fangled thing call the internet (which one has to be on to play WoW).  I tend to be very short (not nasty) with people if I give them a response at all, and I usually put them on ignore (which means they can't send me private tells in the game on that toon).  Tonight was just a bad night, and I now have a new person I do not know to loathe.  The guild is Iron Guard, the characters are Raytom aka Darianstorm aka Renaimed.  I am assuming they are all the same person, but it is possible guild mates are "helping" him/her (I'm going to go with her because the last comment-which I'll type out down below-sounded like something a young girl would say.  I would know, I was one once.)

So I am playing my level 73 Alliance druid, (Mellara-but don't whisper me, I'm a jerk).  I'm frustrated with things Horde side and I am Alliance side looking for some piece and quiet and to just quietly level my character.  Here is the conversation (word for word):
Raytom:  How do you get to be a bird in this area?
          Mellara:  I'm magic.

Then I put the person on ignore and got up to make toast.  When I came back I had this message:
Darianstorm:  Why don't you try being helpful instead of being a total jerk!  I hope karma bites you hard in the ass!
          Mellara:  Whatever
My message did not go through because Darianstorm put me on ignore.
That irrated me.  I took Raytom off ignore and whispered:
Mellara:  Instead of being a jerk back why don't you try looking up flying on wowhead or thottbot?  I'm not your personal thotbott and I'm tired of feeling obligaed to be helpful to everyone.  Screw karma I want to play and be left alone.

I put them back on ignore.  Then I get this message:
Renaimed:  It's not like I was following you around asking you a bunch of questions!  I didn't know you could fly in that area.  YOU ARE A JERK and are the worst thing about WOW.  Karma WILL bite you in the ass.  You obviously are over compensating for a lack in size!!!!

Then they logged out.  I took Raytom off ignore again and tried to send this message:
Mellara:  Well, that's mature, considering I'm a girl.  You didn't have to be a jerk and whisper me from three different toons total.  You could have just left me alone.

But they had put me on ignore.  I was soo tempted to log on another toon to whisper them but I didn't want to stoop to their level of douchebagery.  I could have just said from the start "go look it up on thottbott" instead of saying I'm magic.  But they really could have let it go.  I wish I could just put everyone (except a few people) on ignore and just enjoy the game.  All these other people are really starting to ruin it for me.

*sigh*  Enough douchebagery for one night.  I'm off to bed.

Mock the Guild "Torchered Souls"

I can only assume this guild is full of jerks and idiots based on the experience I had with them. Let me share that tale with you now!

I was running around one of the blood elf areas (I think it started in Eversong Woods), minding my own business on a baby toon I created just for the purpose of goofing off and laying low. I was being laid back, so I had the General Channel and the Trade Channel on, so I could see just how much happier I am to not be on those channels on my real toons. I was seeing a lot of "Sign my guild charter" spam on the channels, and was tuning most of it out.

I was doing my own thing, completing quests and turning them in. As I was running from one town to another, I passed a level 70 Death Knight. This char followed me, and after a few moments a "Guild Charter Signature Page" flashed up on my screen. This was one of the people spamming the trade and general chat looking for people to sign their charter. I hid close and kept moving on. Signing the charter would ahve put me in their guild, which I could have left once it was formed. I just didn't like the way they sent the page to me without even whispering me first to see if I would. I put this person on ignore the minute I hit close because I just wanted to be left alone. After a while I took this person off ignore (this would be a mistake). I was turning in more quests and just as I was about to hit "accept" (to turn in a quest and get my reward), guess what pops up on my screen and interrupts me? Yup, a "Guild Charter Signature Page" from the same toon. I hit close and quickly finished up my turn in. This char, his/her name is Deathsins, whispered me and we had a nice little chat: (not exact, but you get the gist)

Deathsins: Sign my charter
Me: No
Deathsins: I'll give you 1 gold
Me: No
Deathsins: Ur being a rude jerk
Me: I'm being a rude jerk? You are being a rude jerk
Deathsins: I can make is so you never get into a guild
Me: Have fun with that
Deathsins: I'm a level 70 and I can make it so you never get a guild invite anywhere
Me: Whatever. I have a level 80, and a guild. Have fun with that
Deathsins: Ur being a real ass, just sign my charter
Me: You are the one being rude. You don't even ask, you just send out the signature invite. I was in the middle of doing something and you kept interrupting me. And I'm the one being rude?
Deathsins: Whatever.

I put this person on ignore after that. But now, the small amount of scottish/irish blood in me is boiling for revenge. I am, at some point, going to get even with this ass. I know a few of Deathsins alts, and I'm tracking the guild they created. I don't know how, and I don't know when... but I'm going to get even for the stupid behavior and the really ridiculous threats (I have a level 70....I still giggle when I think about that). And I have a guild full of fun people that like to mess stupid people up. Deathsins has no idea what he/she invoked that day.

I wish I could have my very own WoW server, where only people I invite could come play with me and when they annoy me or cease to be helpful or productive I could boot them from my server.  It would be so much better than the gkick button (which boots a person from a guild).

Guild drama is just stupid.  It is seriously like being back in school and fighting with kids on the playground except everyone is grown up and has no good excuse for acting like a jerk.  I hate it when lines and boundaries are just, non-existent and everyone does what the want or what is best for them.  One really obnoxious, self-absorbed, emo wanker can ruin a quiet small guild.
Lately, our guild dynamic has been changing.  It feels like the mellow laid back feeling is being replaced with a pushy, stressed vibe.  That makes me grumpy.  I now either need to step up and keep up with the pace and deal with the additions to the guild that I don't want, play another character or just leave the game.

If I do leave the game, I'm going out in a blaze of glory. *wicked grin*

Ah, Flashbacks to First Grade

I guess it would actually be third grade for me, I was home-schooled for first and second grade.  But I digress...

So as most you you readers (the whole two or three of you) know, I am a WoW chick and I have been posting a little bit about my role as a druid raid healer.  Elfy, well Scritch actually, and I have a horde raiding guild that we have been a part of for a while.  It's not the same guild we raided with at first.  We left that guild because success was getting to some members heads, and it was causing the raids to feel like work instead of something fun to do.  We left that guild, and actually quit playing the game for a few months.  We started up alliance side and had a bunch of really stupid crap happen there after we leveled our chars and got into a "raiding" guild (I use raiding loosely here because they had no idea what a real raiding guild was, it was more "you are my friend so you get to come, even if you can't heal and we all die all night.").  I think I posted about that drama trama already.  So we came back to our horde chars and picked up playing with our horde friends.

The guild we are in horde side is much more laid back than our first guild.  It has most of our dear friends from the first guild, who also left for similar reasons.  We started running things with them, starting out in the 5 man instances for practice, gear and fun.  Recently we started working on the 10 man content.  For the most part, it is fun.  Learning a new fight is stressful at first, but getting it done and learning the fight with good players is fun.  The raiding was relatively laid back, and low-stress.

Recently, there has been a player or two (you know how there is always one, and then they rope a few others in) who have been pushing to try encounters that frankly, the guild is not ready for.  There are a lot of factors that have to be conisdered with each fight-how much healing needs to be done, how much damage per second, what classes are best for each boss, and so on and so forth.  Our class pool in our guild is limited (we are a small guild), and people are still working on getting gear to better their stats and such.  It's hard having someone pushing pushing pushing us to move forward when we just don't have the power to do so yet.  So then the fun starts to drain away, tempers flair, and I want to stop healing everyone and let them all die.  It feels just like being stuck in a class of first graders, where there are always one or two kids who are trying to rule the class.  I think "bossy."  In this situation, it's too many leaders an a confused group of followers.  Tonight was just really really stressful because I hate conflict.  And I hate wankers who think they know it all but won't step up when called out.

If it keeps going like this much longer I see myself done with WoW.  I'm not done just yet.  I can't pass up the chance to use my healing powers for evil.  The only power I have, is the power to not heal someone.  My one amusement is to have a no-heal list, and after tonight, it has at least one new name. :)

WoW Update

Because Elfy keeps posting comments in the post below, it made me think I should post a new update here!  We got our Horde toons to 80, after what felt like the longest grind in the world!  We have the speced the way we want them (both of us are healers), and have started running stuff like crazy for badges and resto experience!  It has been a long time since I healed, so I was a little stressed about doing it again.  After a couple of stressful runs and some good back up healers, I am feeling much more confident in my healing and am less reluctant to be the healer in 5 man heroics now.  Now, I want to help Elfy get to that point!  We've been running all we can, getting what ever gear we can (from instances, guildies etc.) and working on various rep for any other pieces and enchants we can get.  I'm looking forward to making progress in the grown up instances with our friends and ULS guildies.  For the Horde!

*Sigh*

I have been very neglectful of this blog.  Elfy and I enjoyed (well, that's me keeing the glass half full) leveling our spacegoats through the new content.  We joined a guild that said it planned to raid the new 10 man content, so that motiviated us to get to 80 so we could roll with the high levels.  We got to 80, and I decided I did not want to raid with my shadow priest. ><  I did not find it enjoyable to be expected to heal when I was not speced to do so.  And I did not want to heal with my priest.  So, while Elfy worked on faction for gear I started to power level a druid.  Meanwhile, things kind of fell apart.  The people were nice enough in the guild, but they seemed a little unwilling to let new people in to the "in" group.  One minute Elfy is on the progression team, next minute he's not.  He want to be a healer, they tell him they need dps.  So he specs for dps and works on getting gear and numbers up to where they told him they needed to be.  Then they tell him they need healers.   Either way, he's not able to run in the 10 mans.  Instead, they are putting in people who don't want to heal, or whos dps is very much below Elfy's.  When he calls them out on this, they pretty much blow him off, and then imply he doesn't know what a progression team.  Apparently our time raiding in Requiem, which was what, the 3rd ranked horde guild on our server at one point meant we knew nothing?  Needless to say we quit the guild and went back Horde side to lick our wounds.  This meant we left our level 80's, and my druid that I leveled as far as 66 (I leveled her 30+ levels in one week, that's how badly I wanted to raid with a druid).  Our horde toons are level 70, so at least I have a 70 druid to fall back on.  But Elfy was really enjoying the Shammy.  This posed a problem.

Refer a friend to the rescue.  So Elfy could have a horde side shammy we signed up for the refer a friend program.  I signed up for the trial account and rolled, wait for it... wait... another druid!  And Elfy rolled a shammy.  The refer a friend had super xp bonuses, and we were able to get from 0-60 in a week.  After level 60 our super xp bond was broken, and the grind now has been a little harder to swallow.  I just need to suck it up, and do the two box thing.   We have some really wonderful friends horde side who welcomed us back without question or hesitation.  I'm looking forward to getting to 80 and being able to run all the instances with people we know how to raid with, and people we can just be silly with.   I wish Elfy didn't have to grind all the rep again, or get all the gear again but at least we have a guild that things about eachother, and wants everyone to have things and enjoy playing.  I just hope I can get into a groove, and get us through outlands and into northrend sooner rather than later.  Thanks to my hatred of running things with my priest I didn't get to run any of the instances so I'm looking forward to seeing all that content for the first time.  I'm just going to have to keep that in mind as I quest quest quest away.

Expansion!

So it's been a few days now, and I have had a chance to absorb some of the new content in World of Warcraft's newest expansion, Wrath of the Litch King.  The new areas are beautiful!  The monsters/animals/etc. are beautiful!  It's all shiney and new, and I am not even slightly disappointed.  The queues have been horrible (I am currently number  293 in a queue where I started out at 947) but it isn't a huge suprise.  After a few weeks it will balance out and be more normal.  It's been nice to have the game feel exciting and new.  David and I have been having fun questing together and taking in the new content.  Life is good :)

WoW Patch Day

Today is one of Blizzard's infamous patch days.  I am having flashbacks to the early days of the game when patch day was both something to look forward to and to dread.  Patches mean fixed bugs or new goodies.  They also mean more bugs and days of unplayable time.  It is 7:15pm and I have yet to be able to look in and make sure my characters are as they should be.  I'm glad I'm not in a raiding guild right now.  The pressure to get logged in and all updated (new spells, etc.) before the raid can be a bit much.  Now I just have to get past my impatience.  Stupid patch day.

New Character

Last night we rolled spacegoats (Draenei).  It was time for something different.  I think we are still feeling a bit lost since we quit our raiding guild.  The best part is the bleating sound Elfy makes while he's playing his spacegoat.  hee hee

Fast Flappy Flappy

Driel has really crappy gear, but she has her suppa fast flappy flappy thanks to being able to do dailies and 2000 gold from Demonsfury.  This weekend we did dailies, and ran around doing the flame quests for the seasonal event in game.  I think we made about 600 gold doing those, and we got a pretty dress.  Today we ran around on some characters we don't play as much;  Demons on his hunter and I actually played my beloved Chala.  We ran around with our two favorite warriors and caused some mischief with some stupid alliance.  It was just what I needed.  Last week at work was kind of intense, and tomorrow is going to be more of the same.  It was nice to have a low key gamey weekend.  Now, I need to work on Driel's gear and maybe running some instances with Chala so as not to lose my healing skillz (it has been awhile).
