*Sigh*

I have been very neglectful of this blog.  Elfy and I enjoyed (well, that's me keeing the glass half full) leveling our spacegoats through the new content.  We joined a guild that said it planned to raid the new 10 man content, so that motiviated us to get to 80 so we could roll with the high levels.  We got to 80, and I decided I did not want to raid with my shadow priest. ><  I did not find it enjoyable to be expected to heal when I was not speced to do so.  And I did not want to heal with my priest.  So, while Elfy worked on faction for gear I started to power level a druid.  Meanwhile, things kind of fell apart.  The people were nice enough in the guild, but they seemed a little unwilling to let new people in to the "in" group.  One minute Elfy is on the progression team, next minute he's not.  He want to be a healer, they tell him they need dps.  So he specs for dps and works on getting gear and numbers up to where they told him they needed to be.  Then they tell him they need healers.   Either way, he's not able to run in the 10 mans.  Instead, they are putting in people who don't want to heal, or whos dps is very much below Elfy's.  When he calls them out on this, they pretty much blow him off, and then imply he doesn't know what a progression team.  Apparently our time raiding in Requiem, which was what, the 3rd ranked horde guild on our server at one point meant we knew nothing?  Needless to say we quit the guild and went back Horde side to lick our wounds.  This meant we left our level 80's, and my druid that I leveled as far as 66 (I leveled her 30+ levels in one week, that's how badly I wanted to raid with a druid).  Our horde toons are level 70, so at least I have a 70 druid to fall back on.  But Elfy was really enjoying the Shammy.  This posed a problem.

Refer a friend to the rescue.  So Elfy could have a horde side shammy we signed up for the refer a friend program.  I signed up for the trial account and rolled, wait for it... wait... another druid!  And Elfy rolled a shammy.  The refer a friend had super xp bonuses, and we were able to get from 0-60 in a week.  After level 60 our super xp bond was broken, and the grind now has been a little harder to swallow.  I just need to suck it up, and do the two box thing.   We have some really wonderful friends horde side who welcomed us back without question or hesitation.  I'm looking forward to getting to 80 and being able to run all the instances with people we know how to raid with, and people we can just be silly with.   I wish Elfy didn't have to grind all the rep again, or get all the gear again but at least we have a guild that things about eachother, and wants everyone to have things and enjoy playing.  I just hope I can get into a groove, and get us through outlands and into northrend sooner rather than later.  Thanks to my hatred of running things with my priest I didn't get to run any of the instances so I'm looking forward to seeing all that content for the first time.  I'm just going to have to keep that in mind as I quest quest quest away.

Expansion!

So it's been a few days now, and I have had a chance to absorb some of the new content in World of Warcraft's newest expansion, Wrath of the Litch King.  The new areas are beautiful!  The monsters/animals/etc. are beautiful!  It's all shiney and new, and I am not even slightly disappointed.  The queues have been horrible (I am currently number  293 in a queue where I started out at 947) but it isn't a huge suprise.  After a few weeks it will balance out and be more normal.  It's been nice to have the game feel exciting and new.  David and I have been having fun questing together and taking in the new content.  Life is good :)

WoW Patch Day

Today is one of Blizzard's infamous patch days.  I am having flashbacks to the early days of the game when patch day was both something to look forward to and to dread.  Patches mean fixed bugs or new goodies.  They also mean more bugs and days of unplayable time.  It is 7:15pm and I have yet to be able to look in and make sure my characters are as they should be.  I'm glad I'm not in a raiding guild right now.  The pressure to get logged in and all updated (new spells, etc.) before the raid can be a bit much.  Now I just have to get past my impatience.  Stupid patch day.

New Character

Last night we rolled spacegoats (Draenei).  It was time for something different.  I think we are still feeling a bit lost since we quit our raiding guild.  The best part is the bleating sound Elfy makes while he's playing his spacegoat.  hee hee

Fast Flappy Flappy

Driel has really crappy gear, but she has her suppa fast flappy flappy thanks to being able to do dailies and 2000 gold from Demonsfury.  This weekend we did dailies, and ran around doing the flame quests for the seasonal event in game.  I think we made about 600 gold doing those, and we got a pretty dress.  Today we ran around on some characters we don't play as much;  Demons on his hunter and I actually played my beloved Chala.  We ran around with our two favorite warriors and caused some mischief with some stupid alliance.  It was just what I needed.  Last week at work was kind of intense, and tomorrow is going to be more of the same.  It was nice to have a low key gamey weekend.  Now, I need to work on Driel's gear and maybe running some instances with Chala so as not to lose my healing skillz (it has been awhile).

The Grind Never Ends

So if I'm not grinding for rep/faction I'm grinding for gold.  Driel needs a suppa fast flying mount.  The one she has is too damn slow and she hates it.  Chala likes to rub in that she can zip around on hers.  Driel gets mad and reminds Chala that she (Chala) can't kill stuff without help.  It's a big jealous mess.  So, I've been doing all kinds of dailies.  It's nice to be able to do them without needing help from someone.  I'm really enjoying my priest.  Sometimes I find myself thinking "Chala who?" but I do miss the healing.  I'm hoping maybe when the new expansion comes out there will be some new raiding opportunies.  Hopefully by then Driel will have her suppa fast mount.  I guess I have a goal!
